On Sunday 21st  May, a select and privileged group met to battle it out for the kudos and meagre baubles on offer at our Spring Meeting.  

 

Triumphing in the red hot competition were Scott Wilson and Danielle Alexander, pipping at the post Johnny Lemer and Lynn Cherkas respectively.  

 

It was great to see Valerie Lemer smoothly back in action after her enforced absence.  Biased as I am as member of Porters Park, the course was in fine fettle for our event and presented a suitable challenge for this august comp., requiring mastering the elevation changes, fairway cambers, risk reward shot decisions and the stream that give the course its character.  

 

Sadly, our numbers were reduced by some enforced drop outs, but we had some fun on the day and, most profoundly for our Society, we managed to make the lunchtime sandwiches last until our gathering at the end of the day! (Andy C)
